Now just three more sleeps from the total solar eclipse in Ontario, and many are starting to worry about whether or not they’ll be able to see the event because of cloud cover.
Environment Canada Senior Climatologist David Phillips says right now there’s certainly clouds in the forecast, but that could change in a hurry.
Phillips says even with clouds in the sky during a solar eclipse, it will still appear like nighttime out, you just may not be able to get a great look at the sun.
Regardless of what Mother Nature has in store for the event, there will still be lots of noticeable differences outside of how bright it is outside. Phillips says as someone who studies the weather, one of the biggest ones will be the temperature.
He reminds eclipse-watchers to always wear proper eye protection if you plan on viewing the eclipse, which includes ISO-certified glasses.
