Canada’s top doctor says measles cases continue to rise in Ontario and other provinces.
Dr. Theresa Tam says health officials are aware of 40 measles cases in Canada so far this year.
Infections have also been reported in Quebec, Saskatchewan and British Columbia.
Tam says the majority of patients were unvaccinated, and most of them were children.
Measles is highly infectious, and in rare cases, can have severe complications like deafness or brain injury
