Norfolk County is putting a call out to the public – what should be done with the Simcoe Recreation Centre’s multi-purpose floor?
The former ice pad is ready for new ideas and want to hear what kind of indoor activities the community is after with suggestions such as badminton, roller derby, and pickleball being suggested.
There is a bit of a wait between the suggestions being put in and seeing the final project.
They are gathering ideas now but don’t anticipate construction until April of 2025.
When this same question was asked online through the counties Facebook page, several people expressed their thoughts in a public forum.
Of note, several resident expressed a desire to turn it back to it’s former ice surface for skating and hockey instead of moving forward with these new ideas.
The survey itself can be found here.
