MPP Bobbi Ann Brady posted an update regarding to proposed housing development in Nanticoke that she strong campaigned against during the election period.
She says in the mandatory response to a petition she has been brought forward, the Municipal Affairs and Housing Minister said he would cease and desist issuing new MZOs until a new framework is established for how requests for zoning orders will be considered.
Brady reiterated in the release that, as part of the approval process needed for a development of a city of 15,000 homes, Haldimand County requested the authorization of an MZO in 2022.
She noted that petition highlighted the impact on infrastructure such as existing roadways, plus the maintenance of new roads and the need for new medical, police and fire facilities.
