Norfolk County staff members are pulling back the curtain on the County’s recycling process.
Norfolk County’s Environmental and Infrastructure Services team is inviting residents for a public tour of the Norfolk Recovery Facility on Grigg Drive in Simcoe, this coming Wednesday.
Tours will be running from 9:30 a.m. until noon hour, allowing residents to see first-hand what happens to recycling after leaving the curb. Attendees will learn how materials are sorted and baled in preparation of being sold and made into new recycled products.?
“Our team does a tremendous job ensuring as many items as possible are diverted from landfill,” said Norfolk County Mayor Amy Martin. “This is a great opportunity for taxpayers to further learn about the recycling process, ask questions, and be more informed about what can go to the curb what can be recycled.”
