An individual prohibited from driving is facing several charges after being clocked at high speeds on 1st Concession Road STR.
On Tuesday Norfolk OPP noticed a vehicle exceeding the speed limit on 1st Concession Road STR in Courtland. The car was travelling at more than 150 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone.
After the officer attempted to pull over the vehicle, the driver sped away, later leaving the road and then fleeing on foot. No injuries were reported.
Patrolling officers then found the driver at a nearby location and took them into custody without incident.
The driver was charged with the following alleged offences:
Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code,
Flight from Peace Officer,
Dangerous operation,
Drive motor vehicle – perform stunt – excessive speed,
Speeding 50+ km/h over posted speed limit,
Use plate not authorized for vehicle.
The accused is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
