Health Canada has approved a Pfizer-manufactured R-S-V vaccine for pregnant people, who then pass along immunity protection to their babies.
The Abrysvo vaccine is also approved for adults aged 60 and older.
The respiratory syncytial virus usually causes cold-like symptoms and most people recover on their own.
But infants and seniors are at higher risk of developing serious infection in their lower respiratory tracts.
