A new survey suggests more than half of Canadians are unfamiliar with the government’s plans for a national pharmacare program.
Of 16-hundred people surveyed online this month by the Leger polling firm, only 18 per cent of respondents said they believe the government should spend additional money on a universal, single-payer drug plan, when compared to other health-care priorities.
The Liberals promised to pass pharmacare legislation by the end of this year, which would serve as the foundation of a national drug plan in a deal with the N-D-P.
But the parties agreed on a March 1st deadline for the Liberals to introduce legislation.
