
It’s a story that involves the Toronto Maple Leafs, Ford, and some creative ideas to help kids.
A hockey game Saturday will see both Waterford Wildcats U13 teams play each other for fun and to raise money for local school snack programs through the Toonies for Tummies program.
Team Manager Alison Rossi says it’s a very important cause.
Rossi explains how the idea came about.
Then she came up with the idea for the friendly hockey game. Donations will go to the Toonies for Tummies program in five local schools.
The game starts at 2pm Saturday, at the Waterford Arena, and toonies and other donations will be collected. Caradoc Townsend Mutual Insurance has also come forward to match donations.
