A new partnership between the Salvation Army Simcoe Community and Family Services and Feed Ontario.
In a release, they say this will address the growing demand for food assistance in Norfolk and help the Salvation Army redirect funds that were previously allocated to food to other life-changing programs and services.
So far in 2023, more than 2,500 people in Norfolk County have received food assistance from The Salvation Army, while 162 new clients have requested help because of the high cost of living.
Through this partnership with Feed Ontario, The Salvation Army can support even more people in need in the community.
In addition to provincial programs, being a member of Feed Ontario also provides The Salvation Army in Simcoe with access to various national food sharing and grant programs as an affiliate member of Food Banks Canada.
Feed Ontario represents a network of 1,200 direct and affiliate hunger-relief organizations who are united in their goal of serving those in need. All organizations are required to abide by provincial and national service standards, including best practices related to quality care and organizational excellence.
