The holiday spirit is not alive and well in scammers.
The OPP is reporting a fraud case out of Simcoe after someone was contacted by an individual claiming to be from Hydro One.
They said they have an overdue balance on their account and pressured an immediate payment of $800 or all services would be disconnected.
Police say individuals should be cautious of unsolicited calls, especially those claiming to be from utility providers.
