While Remembrance Day is November 11th, the Wagner Memorial Teeterville Legion Branch 526 hosts theirs the Sunday before, which falls on Sunday November 5th this year.
This allows for their members to join other Legions on the 11th, and it allows for other Legions to attend theirs. It also serves to ensure that the Hamilton Pipe and Drum Band will be available.
The parade formation will be assembling at the Teeterville Women’s Institute Hall at 1:30 pm. In attendance will be the Carrying of Colours, including the Canadian Flag and the Branch 526 flag, visiting Legions and their flags, and the Hamilton Pipe and Drum Band will lead the march following the orders of the parade Marshall.
The band, Legion 526, and visiting Legions will be followed by the Teeterville firefighters, and lastly will come anyone else wishing to join the parade.
The march across the bridge to the Legion will commence at about 1:45, with the service beginning afterwards, at about 2pm. Speakers will include MPP Bobbi Ann Brady and Mayor Amy Martin, followed by the laying of the wreaths, the drum and pipe band, the Last Post, and the service will end with thank yous.
