People gathered in Wellington Park on Wednesday morning for 1 Million March 4 Children.
This is a coast-to-coast protest initiative that aims to eliminate the Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity curriculum.
Luanne was one of the main speakers at the initiative gathering for 9 a.m.
The March itself, according to their official website, was to “protect children from indoctrination and sexualization.”
She told everyone in attendance that it was their duty to make a change, if they desired it.
Across the road from Wellington Park, a group of individuals gathered as a form of counter protest.
Much like these organized marches, several counter rallies have been organized.
We spoke to Tea about why she was there.
She said that the other side is talking about “let kids be kids” but she wrote on with chalk on wall to “let kids be themselves.”
We also spoke with Shauna, who was there out of deep concern regarding what she is seeing from around the world and not wanting to see that same situation play out here.
The March itself will take place at 11 a.m.
Right now, both sides of this protest are standing on opposite sides of the bridge on Norfolk Street.
Luanne did not want her words taken out of context and we have added the entire opening remarks here.
This included audio from the organizer about the event and what to do should a situation occur with counter protesters.
