The pedestrian crossover on Norfolk Street and Wilson Drive in Simcoe has been completed.
After the initial controversy of the project, that began in front of the Carillon Tower, it has finally been moved across the road to allow safe access across the busy roadway to students of SCS and anyone else who wishes to use it.
When the pedestrian crossover is activated, drivers and cyclists must yield the right of way to the pedestrian, stopping behind pavement markings until they have completely crossed the road before proceeding.
The penalty for motorists who endanger pedestrians includes fines up to $1,000 and four demerit points.
