A two vehicle crash leads to one local woman facing a slew of charges.
On Tuesday afternoon, two vehicles collided on Cedar Street.
While not fully described by police, quite the situation must have occurred after the fact as, aside from facing impaired driving charges, the 42-year-old Norfolk County woman is also facing other serious charges like assault, assaulting a peace officer, and two counts of uttering threats.
Charged with the following offences is 42-year-old Crystal Atkinson:
Uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm (two counts),
Assault,
Assault a Peace Officer,
Obstruct a Peace Officer,
Dangerous operation,
Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs,
Failure or refusal to comply with demand,
Driving motor vehicle with liquor readily available,
Fail to surrender permit for vehicle,
Fail to surrender insurance card.
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice located in Simcoe on Tuesday, September 26, 2023.
