An Otterville teen is heading to Edmonton to represent Ontario at the 2023 Canada Cup.
Carson McKie has made the U18 Football Ontario roster as an offensive lineman.
The Delhi District Secondary School student said there was a lot of competition to make the final team.
The 15-year-old is excited to be able to represent the province.
He said he played football when he was younger, but got back into the sport in high school after watching his brother, Aden, play as a Raider as well.
As a Grade 10 student, he had some advice for those students in Grade 8 considering trying out for football when they get to high school.
The games take place at the Foote Field & Commonwealth Stadium at the University of Alberta from July 9 through 15.
Ontario’s first game is against British Columbia.
