Ontario’s minimum wage is set to rise to 16-dollars and 55-cents an hour on October 1st.
Labour Minister Monte McNaughton says someone making minimum wage and working 40 hours per week would see their pay increase by nearly 22-hundred-dollars per year.
The Ontario Living Wage Network says a proper living wage in many parts of the province would be 19-dollars, but inflation and exacerbated housing prices push it to more than 23-dollars in the Greater Toronto Area.
