An act of kindness from the Grade 7 and 8 students at St. Joseph’s School.
Through their candy gram program at school they raised $700 and presented it to Jessica Durka of the South Coast Community Caring for Cancer group.
The group puts together gift baskets and helps with gas and parking for those attending cancer treatments out of town.
Durka visited the school and spoke to around 100 students about her experience with cancer and how SCCCFA was started.
The money will go directly towards buying items for the care packages for local individuals going through cancer treatments.
