Ontario’s Wiarton Willie is made his spring forecast this morning as the country kicked off Groundhog Day.
He did not see his shadow, meaning we could be having an early spring this year.
Willie’s hosts in southern Ontario say the groundhog once again has white fur as per local legend.
South Bruce Peninsula spokeswoman Danielle Edwards says the town brought in an “understudy” with a more traditional brown hue last year while it searched for a replacement.
Willie was nowhere to be seen on the momentous day in 2021 and the town only later acknowledged the furry forecaster had died
