Today is National Sweater Day.
Norfolk County is encouraging residents to turn down their thermostats and toss on a cozy sweater to raise awareness about energy conservation.
The idea is to turn down the thermostat by 1.5 degrees Celsius, in recognition of the global efforts to limit the rise of global temperatures by the same amount.
Since 2010, more than a million Canadians have bundled up for National Sweater Day to promote the need to conserve fossil fuels, such as those used to heat our homes.
To do their part, Norfolk will be turning down the temperature in all County facilities.
