Two new cases of familiar scams reported in Norfolk County.
On Saturday, police were contacted after a senior was swindled out of $10,000 through the Amazon scam.
This scam involves someone receiving a call from an individual claiming to be from Amazon, saying that there is an issue with your account and that they need remote access to your computer to fix it.
Once that happens, they send themselves money from your computer.
On Sunday, it was another sextortion situation.
This is where a resident meets someone online, explicit photos are requested, and then that same individual demands cash or they will send the photos to your friends online.
In this incident $3000 was requested in order for the photos not to be sent, but the person refused to send the cash and police were called instead.
