A local business has been ordered closed by the county.
Fancy Face – Fancy It Up, located at 250 Owen St. in Simcoe, was ordered to close following a compliance inspection on November 17.
The business provides services such as microblading, microshading, and permanent makeup, and has been operating without public health inspections or approval since 2018.
The inspection found that the tools were not being disinfected, and were being reused on multiple clients. The infection risk associated with this includes blood-borne infections and skin infections.
While Acting Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Matt Strauss, says the risk of infection is quite low, he does suggest all clients that attended this business for microblading services between 2018 and November 9 ask their healthcare provider for a blood test for infections such as hepatitis and HIV.
The business will remain closed until all infractions are corrected and a municipal business license with public health’s approval is acquired.
