Flu cases are up significantly in Haldimand and Norfolk.
The health unit has reported 141 lab-confirmed cases of residents between October 11 and November 29.
In the same time period in the 2019/20 flu season there was only one confirmed case.
Some people who get the flu may only have mild symptoms, but others such as young children and seniors it can be much worse. Children under the age of five, adults over 65, people who are pregnant, and those with underlying health conditions are at higher risk for complications and hospitalization with a flu case.
The HNHU is reminding the community to get vaccinated against the influenza, and to stay home if you feel sick.
