Today (Tuesday) is a very special day for everyone in Norfolk County.
The Norfolk County Fair and Horse Show is officially back without any pandemic restrictions and, with that, Young Canada Day returns.
The Grand Stands will be packed with kids cheering on their classmates as they compete in multiple competitions like Tug-of-war, cheerleading, and races to see which school wins YCD.
It is a return to tradition, and one of the new YCD traditions that people in the community have come to love is our own Robynn Beazley’s live stream of the event on the myFM Facebook page.
The community has come to depend on the radio station to provide this service, but this wasn’t always the case, and it began how all great things begin – by a fluke.
From there, Robynn simply couldn’t stop – even she was not prepared to stand in the rain for hours.
Now, after a two year break, Robynn is eager to be out there this morning keeping the community informed on this special day and she knows the community is on the edge of their seats as well.
This year’s broadcast is available thanks to local support, both the community and companies as well.
