Yet another successful year for Church Out Serving’s Gathering Food Gardens.
At the season-end celebration on Friday Eric Haverkamp, Chair, was happy with the progress so far.
While at the Old Windham United Church location, Haverkamp told us about where the food goes.
He added that they’re thankful to be able to help so many people with the program.
As the opening of Riversyde 83 grows nearer, Haverkamp said to expect more projects in the future.
The businesses supporting the garden project include Rona Simcoe, Scott’s Canada, Gintec Shade Technologies, Eising’s Greenhouse and Garden Centre, and Shabatura Produce.
The gardens are managed by a Church Out Serving coordinator, with garden labour provided by volunteers from the Hambleton Hall Garden Committee, Unilever staff, local church and COS volunteers.
