
A number of intoxicated motorists were taken off Norfolk County roads and waterways on Sunday.
With Sunday being the annual Pottahawk party, police had an increased presence in the area.
As a result of multiple traffic stops, the follow people were charged.
A 61-year-old Sharon Ann Luke of Hamilton was stopped on Turkey Point Road and charged with operation while impaired at around 5:45 p.m.
Just after 8 p.m. the OPP Marine Unit stopped a vessel between Turkey Point and Pottahawk in Lake Erie. The 54-year-old operator, William Jukes of Norfolk, was charged with operation while impaired.
A Hamilton resident, 28-year-old Jay Milankumar Patel, was stopped on Turkey Point Road just before 10 p.m. and charged with operation while impaired.
Jonah Noel McArthur-Bolten, a 24-year-old Oshweken resident, was charged with operation while impaired, and novice driver with blood alcohol concentration above zero. He was stopped on Ordnance Avenue in Turkey Point at around 10:30 p.m.
Elsewhere in the community on Sunday, police responded to a single-vehicle collision on Queen Street South in Simcoe.
A 58-year-old Steven Russell Martin of Norfolk was charged with operation while impaired.
