Fifteen new rental units are on their way to Simcoe.
A 15-unit apartment building was approved by Norfolk County Council on Tuesday.
The building is set to go in at the corner of Evergreen Hill Road and Queen Street South.
The rental units will be accompanied by 22 parking spaces.
The board needed to approve a zoning change for the area before it could be build.
That was Mohammad Alam, Principal Planner for the Community Development Division of Norfolk County.
A public hearing for this application was held in September of 2021. Staff worked with the applicant to address the issues brought forward by community members.
As a result of the concerns, 22 parking spaces are now required, staff surveyed the surrounded dwellings and believe this will fit the area, and storm water will be managed within the property before going to municipal services.
