A very busy week at council, but there is one unique deputation on the docket.
A company called Splashtown is pitching to our elected officials the idea of opening up an aquatic playground in the waters of Port Dover.
It would be an inflatable waterpark with the idea being it would be a good tourist attraction for the beachgoers.
They are proposing the installation of a 51.5 x 27m configuration Sports Park just off the beach in Dover with the structure including hurdles, trampolines, climbing walls and monkey bars – lots of things for climbing, jumping, and sliding.
The company would be on the hook for all staffing (including a lifeguard) and cleaning up the beach area where it operates.
The hope would be to be open from June to September from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. every day.
The park can hold 150 people at a time.
The full idea can be viewed here.
