Police have confirmed that the remains found in the Grand River are those of a four-year-old girl.
On May 17 at around 1:20 p.m., emergency services responded to a call in Dunnville after the body of a child had been found.
The press release says the body appears to have been in the water for a period of time.
A post-mortem examination will be conducted at the Office of the Chief Coroner and Ontario Forensic pathology Service in Toronto on May 19, 2022.
