The province announced last week that it is providing up to $270 million this year to increase staffing at long-term care homes by more than 4,000 workers.
Rod Phillips, Minister of Long-Term Care, said it’s a case of taking action to improve the quality of care residents receive and the quality of life they experience.
Phillips added as part of the government’s plan to fix long-term care, it intends to bring forward legislation that will enshrine its commitment to four hours of care into law.
MPP Toby Barrett provided us with a breakdown of where the money is going locally.
