Norfolk County Council approved two new developments on the Queensway at their meeting this week.
One building will contain a restaurant, and the other building will contain a restaurant and a commercial unit, said the report presented to council.
Both developments are planned for the plaza that currently houses Staples, Shoppers Drug Mart, Boston Pizza, and Bulk Barn.
In the report, developer Lee Greenwood requested the zoning in the rear of the lot be setback to allow for the construction of two additional buildings. The new buildings will be located along the south-west and westerly property boundaries.
Due to the ongoing water supply issues in Simcoe, the application was approved but will be put into holding until water is available for the development.
