A TikTok trend by the name of Devious Licks has taken the app by storm.
In the trending videos, students are seen stealing items like soap dispensers or clocks from their schools. Other videos feature students damaging sinks, or pulling exit signs out of the ceiling.
Dave Smouter, communications for Grand Erie District School Board, said their schools have seen items such as soap dispensers and hand dryers going missing.
In an email sent to the families of Delhi and District Secondary School, that has since been shared on social media, Principal Stephen Wills said the trend has made some of their bathrooms unusable.
The email continued by saying washroom access is now being monitored and funds have had to be relocated to repair the damage.
It also included that students caught participating will be facing consequences, which could include police involvement.
Tracey Austin, communications for Brant Haldimand Norfolk Catholic School Board, said none of their schools have been impacted by the trend.
