Haldimand and Norfolk are part of the walking path for Dan Perrins, who is travelling Ontario on foot to raise awareness for men’s mental health.
Perrins, of Dundas, got to the area last week with his companion, his dog Charger. He has been doing this walk annually for six years.
Since then, the walks have expanded.
After the first walk, Perrins heard from a young man who decided against adding to the men’s suicide statistics after seeing one of the #ProjectJeb stickers.
He added he knows of at least seven men from his hometown that he grew up with that have lost their battles with mental health.
Perrins urges the public to contact their local and provincial politicians to request funding for men’s mental health programming.
You can follow along on Facebook by searching #ProjectJeb. He was in Simcoe as of Wednesday morning, but will be heading towards Hagersville before travelling to Fergus, Toronto, and back to Dundas.
