The Simcoe Firefighters Association is once again reminding the public to only place scrap metal in their donation bins.
Reg Ellis, president of the association, said that it takes extra time out of the volunteers’ days to deal with rotting meat, toilets, and other garbage left in the bins.
The extra waste also costs the association money, that could otherwise be going back into the community.
With the money raised from the scrap metal bins, the Simcoe Firefighters Association bought a number of gift cards to local businesses to give back to the community.
Be listening Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings from July 5th to 16th at 8:34 and when you hear Jamie give the cue to call, dial 519-426-7700 and when the automated messages starts, say FIRE, for your chance to be caller number 9 and win a Shop Local gift card, for one of our local businesses.
