The Haldimand Norfolk Board of Health heard from interim medical officer of health, Dr. Alex Hukowich, about ways to transport temporary migrant workers to farms from the airport more effectively.
Hukowich offered to the board that if farmers are willing to have their workers tested upon arrival at the airport with a rapid test, they can have multiple workers on a bus if distanced properly.
This plan would involve the farmer preparing isolation plans immediately should any of the workers test positive.
The previous rules in place allowed farmers to transport no more than three workers at a time from the airport to the farm.
