The Ward 2 all candidates debate night took place on Wednesday evening.
Linda Vandendriessche says she has been involved in council from a different perspective for awhile.
When the topic of the Langton arena and Courtland Community Centre came to the table, Vandendriessche was at town hall to give deputations.
The three biggest issues Ward 2 is currently facing, according to Vandendriessche, are the need for assistance to farmers regarding decisions made at the Board of Health, upgrades to bridges in the area, and brain drain.
David Van Hamme, a semi-retired tobacco farmer, focused on the need to build relationships with other levels of government.
When asked about how to deal with the rules put in place for farmers in regards to migrant workers, he spoke to the entire province needing one set of rules.
Van Hamme also spoke to the federal government’s promises of high speed internet for all, saying council should approach Ottawa about those options.
The top three issues Van Hamme believes Ward 2 is facing are the need for development, high speed internet, and finding a solution between the farmers and board of health.
Another story featuring the other three candidates will be posted to NorfolkToday.ca. Russell Colebrook did not attend the event.
The Delhi Chamber has posted the full video of the debate on their website.Â
