Teagan Fitch, who has always dreamed of owning a gym, saw a lack of programming available in Norfolk County and wanted to be the solution.
As she went off to school at Brock University and Niagara College, she noticed the amount of programs available for both children and adults with special needs in that area.
After realizing Norfolk didn’t have anything similar, she decided to take the steps to become the provider of that programming with Spectrum Gymnastics, a gym in Simcoe offering classes for all.
Fitch’s journey hasn’t been easy, though, with bylaw hurdles to jump over, and then the start of a pandemic.
She says the hurdles and pivoting have made her a better business person, and she feels better prepared for any future challenges.
Regulations around COVID-19 are currently limiting the number of people in classes, and she is looking forward to opening up availability once restrictions have loosened.
