Toyotetsu is slowly starting back up.
After voluntarily closing last week following an outbreak at the facility, the company tells us that there are now three known active cases among the 1,200 employees.
With that news, they have been working closely with the Health Unit on a return-to-work plan.
A phased approach for resuming operations is underway with a gradual and careful ramp up of production to follow.
The company added that additional health and safety protocols have been set up at the facility to provide workers with a the safest possible work environment.
They also noted that over the past year, there has been only two cases where it was found that transmission of the virus likely occurred at the facility.
