No Canada Day celebrations in Caledonia this year.
The Caledonia Canada Day Committee announced it has cancelled Caledonia’s celebration of Canada’s 154th birthday on July 1st.
The reason is due to the increase in both the number and severity of COVID-19 cases in Ontario, along with the implementation of more restrictions to help stop the spread.
The committee felt canceling the event was the best way to ensure community safety.
The committee went on to encourage residents of Caledonia to celebrate Canada day at home this year with a backyard barbecue or takeout from your favourite local restaurant and to continue to fly your Canadian flag, dress in red and white, and belt out your best rendition of O Canada to help keep the tradition strong in the community.
