Haldimand-Norfolk Board of Health has met with Ontario’s with Chief Medical Officer of Health and they have retained legal counsel.
In a release to the media, it says while the nature of the meeting is confidential, the BOH wanted the community to know that a number of recent concerns were brought forward.
Norfolk Mayor, and Board Of Health Chair, Kristal Chopp discussed the board’s desire to speak to the Chief Medical Officer Of Health during a rally last week that saw over 200 farmers gather to show their objection to section 22 orders put in place by our local Medical Officer Of Health Dr. Shanker Nesathurai.
The release also says that the BOH has retained Borden Ladner Gervais LLP, a Toronto law firm specializing in administrative law and the Health Protection and Promotion Act, to report directly to the Board of Health on a number of matters of immediate concern.
The Board of Health will discuss recent directives issued by the Haldimand-Norfolk Health Unit at their meeting on Tuesday.
