Linda Vandendriessche wants to represent the residents of Ward 2.
Linda was one of the first individuals to put in their name for the seat and thinks she can bring a lot to Town Hall.
Linda is a long time resident, from working on the tobacco farm to advocating to start a daycare Langton to serving as a trustee, she has had a strong focus on local issues for some time.
She said the spark to run for office happened around the 2020 budget.
She feels that the people of Ward 2 need to be heard at Town Hall, and that’s something she feels she can bring to the table.
With that, she understands that if elected she is not just a councillor for Ward 2 – she represents the entire county.
And she believes that means you need to work together as a unit, and not be divided.
When asked about a big issue she’d like to address, she said it would be the large turnover rate of staff – noting we need good competent staff staying here instead of the steady stream of senior staff we have seen leave the county of the past few years.
You will hear from the other candidates throughout this week.
