The Kinsmen Club of Simcoe is recognizing random acts of kindness.
Every year, clubs across the country celebrate the founding of Kin Canada on February 20th by having members go out into their communities and complete random acts of kindness.
This year, because of the pandemic, the club decided to extend the celebration through to March 1st. They are also encouraging members of the community to do their own acts of kindness and to let them know about it.
That was Ken Gallagher, director of communications and membership for the club.
Some acts of kindness mentioned include shovelling a neighbour’s driveway, or paying for the coffee of the person behind you in the drive through.
The goal outcome of this event is both to raise the spirits in the community during COVID-19, and to recognize those going out of their way to be kind.
People will be recognized through the Simcoe Kinsmen social media channels, and those entered will have the chance at winning a gift baskets from a local business.
The prizes are from Jensen’s Cheese, Picards, and Al’s Shoes.
You can send in recognitions to the Kinsmen Club of Simcoe Facebook page, or by emailing simcoekinsmen@gmail.com.
