The nomination period is now open for those looking to represent Ward 2 in Norfolk County.
A detailed timeline has been announced by county staff, here are some of the important dates.
The nomination process is open now and will last until April 12th.
The preferred voting method is mail in ballots, though the county will be accepting ballots to be dropped off as well.
These dates and locations to drop off a ballot are not available yet, but will be detailed in the letters sent out to residents.
A Vote by Mail Kit will be provided to every person who qualifies to be an elector.
Voting Day is on May 27th.
The last day for voters to return ballots via Canada Post is on May 18th.
The reason for this date is to ensure their vote will be counted, allowing 10 days for the votes to reach the county.
On the evening of the 27th, ballots will begin being counted with a winner announced later that evening.
The elected individual would then begin serving their term as of June 1st.
