Amazing news out of Waterford.
The Waterford Tricenturena Skating Club is happy to announce that they received $10,000 from the Canadian Tire Jumpstart Sport Relief Fund.
That was Club President Jennifer Bard.
Bard says increased ice rental fees and fewer skaters on the ice in each class due to COVID-19 restrictions have dramatically changed the cost of skating lessons.
This grant will help them cover these increased ice costs.
They are also looking to use the money to help families who want to see their kids back on the ice but are going through a rough financial patch.
Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities announced an $8 million sport relief fund to help sport and recreation organizations continue to deliver programming in 2020 and beyond.
668 sport and recreation organizations nationally received grant support through Jumpstart’s Sport Relief Fund.
