Norfolk County set aside $15,000 in their Capital Budget to move the skateboard park from the Simcoe Fairgrounds, a move that left some people confused.
Mayor Kristal Chopp says she recently learned the County was paying over $13,000 a year in rent to have the skateboard park at the Rec Centre.
Chopp says the move should pay off quickly and it’s ideas like this that will help out the county’s financial situation in the end.
Continuing, Chopp says she’s hopeful this may inspire staff members to look for other creative solutions in their departments.
