The Haldimand-Norfolk Health Unit is reporting less negative test results, but that doesn’t mean substantially fewer people are being tested.
Last month, 977 people received negative test results with 11 people testing positive.
As of October 19th, we have 9 active cases but only 93 negative test results.
Director of Communications Matt Terry says fewer negative test results are coming in, in part due to asymptomatic testing no longer occurring.
But the main reason for the sharp decline in numbers has to do with the Health Unit staff refocusing on how it reports.
In recent weeks, more information has made its way online regarding positive cases and recoveries, including breakdowns of location and age.
Terry says staff have focused on this information which may mean less negative cases will be reported.
