Community Centres and Halls in Norfolk County are going to begin the process of reopening soon.
Last night at Council, our elected officials approved staff’s recommendation regarding their reopenings.
While the maximum capacity under provincial restrictions is 50 people, some Community Centres and Halls will have stricter restrictions based on their size (the full breakdown can be found below).
The majority of Community Centres and Halls will reopen on November 1st, though there are some exceptions.
On October 1st, the Simcoe Seniors Centre building will open up for its various user groups.
The Vittoria and District Community Centre remains designated as a Community Outbreak Response Centre for COVID-19.
And, as it’s the subject of a future staff report, the Charlotteville Community Centre will remain closed.
The County says that, since each facility will require a deep cleaning following each event, there will be a minimum $50 surcharge added to each facility booking.
