Not long before today’s Public Hearing Committee Meeting and Special Council meeting, Norfolk County reported that Mayor Kristal Chopp was recovering after surgery.
In the County’s release, they explained that Mayor Chopp was taken to the hospital by ambulance early last Thursday, where she underwent surgery.
They say Mayor Chopp was discharged yesterday (Monday) and will continue with some of her official duties on a modified schedule as she continues her recovery.
Deputy Mayor Amy Martin opened today’s meetings, filling in for Mayor Chopp.
