
The Norfolk County OPP are investigating a case of mischief that’s being classified as a hate crime.
Police say officers responded to a Helen Boulevard address in Simcoe just before 5pm on Friday.
They determined that unknown suspects attended the address before spray painting an obscenity on a wooden fence using red paint.

The Norfolk County OPP say an alert driver had to take evasive action to avoid a collision after another driver entered their lane.
At around 4am on Sunday morning, police say they responded to a call from a Dover Mills Road address in Port Dover.
After the driver entered their lane, the alert driver swerved to avoid the collision, leaving the roadway and colliding with a mailbox before calling the police.
Officers investigated and located the other driver at a residential address in Port Dover.
19-year-old Jacob MILLARD of Norfolk County, Ontario is facing the following charges:
Obstruct peace officer,
Public mischief,
Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs,
Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration 80 plus, and
Novice driver – blood alcohol concentration above zero.
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice located in Simcoe at a later date.

Suspected fentanyl and methamphetamine were seized after an alert OPP officer stopped a wanted person.
According to the Norfolk County OPP, an officer stopped and investigated an individual at a Water Street address in Simcoe just before 4pm on Saturday.
As a result, police have charged 34-year-old Kerri Leigh MYKE of Norfolk County, Ontario with the following offences:
· Possession for the purpose of trafficking Fentanyl,
· Possession for the purpose of trafficking Methamphetamine,
· Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose, and
· Possession property obtained by crime under $5,000.
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, Simcoe at a later date.

A stolen truck was recovered by the Norfolk County OPP after it was abandoned and set on fire.
Police say they responded to a theft from a Queen Street West address in Charlotteville just before 1pm on Saturday.
They say that earlier that morning, thieves stole a black coloured, 2014 Ford pickup truck
According to police, the vehicle was later recovered at an Old Dump Road address in Houghton, abandoned and completely destroyed by fire.
Police are continuing to investigate and are asking anyone who may have any information on the theft to contact them.

The Norfolk County OPP are investigating after the Delhi Soccer Club was broken into.
Police say that sometime between last Saturday and this past Saturday, the Soccer Club was broken into and stereo equipment was taken.
According to police, security surveillance captured the break and enter and they are reviewing the footage to identify those responsible.
Anyone who may know more about the break-in is asked to contact the police.

A Good Samaritan in Norfolk County ended up discovering an individual wanted by the Toronto Police on Sunday afternoon.
The Norfolk County OPP says the Good Samaritan noticed a person lying in the ditch on the side of Turkey Point Road when they contacted police.
When officers arrived they located an intoxicated person and learned that they were wanted by the Toronto Police Service.
The individual was taken into custody without incident and was turned over to the Toronto Police.
