COVID-19 has impacted everybody, something the Community Addiction and Mental Health Services of Haldimand and Norfolk
Bobby Jo Smith is a Clinical Services Manager for the local group, who offer mental health counselling, addictions services and psychiatry services for Haldimand and Norfolk residents.
Smith says that there’s been an increase in referrals over the past four weeks.
Smith believes that people initially hoped to wait out COVID-19, but as time went on, it proved difficult.
Continuing, she explains that they’ve offered most of their counselling services over the phone including mental health counselling and addictions services.
Smith adds that psychiatry services, crisis intervention services and their mobile crisis rapid response team, which works alongside the OPP, are still up and running.
